I'll be seeing the flick tomorrow--I am psyched. Thanks for the comments on the photos, I really enjoy coming up with the concepts and trying different things.
Dangit, read this post a few weeks too late. Saw the movie last night. It was great.
Though my friend commented (and I tend to agree) that Wes Andersen's - I don't want to say - little tricks but maybe filming techniques? Are becoming too common in his films.
ie. Slow pan to the left as the cast walks by a detailed scene. (ex. funeral in India)
It's a great idea but you see him repeat these types of things in all his movies. I want to know if he can do more.
Nevertheless, he is still in a league of his own. Gotta love his soundtracks...
Agree... We all expect more from our fav artistas. I would say he's no Gondry, but has earned the well deserved rep as cinema's hippest DJ. You should visit the playlist.blogspot.com and check out a list called "If I Was Wes Anderson", now going on vol. 9.
I loved this movie from the very beginning when the credits were starting up. There was only one part i found disappointing, but i cant tell it in case someone goes to see it...
I liked the fact that the less attractive brother, the shorter one, the weakest, was the most successful and sexually active. I loved to see him always barefoot and i loved their mother's character, Angelica Huston with white and short hair and so inspiring, human and serene always. <3
Did you go to it? How was it? I love Wes Anderson. I like how he repeats certain 'tricks'. If I like something I don't get sick of it, I don't care if it's repetitive!
Take a STANCΞ! This blog will be diverse and open to all sorts of media-culture, music, art and anything worth inspiring others to see points of views other than what we hear and see in our daily routines... including mine! "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment". Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ξthos should be achieved only by what the speaker says, not by what people think of his character before he begins to speak. This position is often disputed and other writers on rhetoric state that ethos is connected to the overall moral character and history of the speaker.
Pathos
Pathos is the use of emotional appeals to alter the audience's judgment. A common use of pathos in argument is creating a sense of rejection if the audience doesn't agree. Creating a fear of rejection is in essence, creating a pathos argument.
